My take on development

Philosophers, economists and political leaders have stressed that human wellbeing is the main driver of development. I believe human development is empowerment; it is about people taking control of their own lives and paving ways of finding solutions to their problems. It is also about productivity, sustainability, empowerment, cooperation, equity and security. If people are educated and engaged in activities that increase skills and talents in communities’ productivity, it will enhance financial stability and independence amongst them. Give people the right to earn a living that will be a source of provision in their lives and you ensure sustainability. Cooperation and participation in communities and groups is a source of the related improvement in social welfare. With equity, people are provided with fairness; everyone is given equal rights to for example an education, or health care. With security, people feel reassured of their safety and freedom to pursue opportunities.
But one of the challenges of the developing world today is the issue of human development. People need to be involved in the field of development, learning different aspects that would help to understand how problems and solutions may be tackled with ease and discovering and recognizing opportunities, privileges, challenges and capabilities. Create awareness, empower your people, give them a stepping stone to prominence!
