Hafsah Jumare studied at the University of Cape Town (UCT) where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, English Language and English Literature. From the same university she also has an honours degree in Economics, and a Master’s degree in Economics graduating with distinction, which earned her the Commerce Faculty Award for Excellence in Environmental Policy. She then worked as a junior researcher at the Environmental Economic Policy Research Unit at UCT where she conducted research on small-farmer behaviour and its impact on credit, insurance and technology uptake. Hafsah has also worked as the anchor for the Trade, Investment and Competitiveness Policy Commission at the Nigeria Economic Summit Group.
