Mr. Ahmad Jumare has diverse experience in the areas of security, strategic communication, project management and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE). As a pioneer staff of Nigeria’s CVE Programme at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and Special Assistant to the Director of Behavioural Analysis, he was directly involved in setting up Nigeria’s soft-approach to Countering Violent Extremism and co-ordinated and implemented CVE-related activities. Mr Jumare also supported the activities of the Joint Terrorism Analysis Bureau (JTAB) at the Counter Terrorism Centre (CTC).
Mr. Jumare has represented Nigeria in several high-level security and social developmental meetings across the world. Notably, he was one of two security sector Nigerian representatives at the United Nations Global Terrorism Forum (UN-GCTF) on Foreign Trained Fighters (FTF) in 2014. He also participated in the development of the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) messaging toolkit, a strategic communications tool designed to aid the development campaigns and counter-narratives for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) working in the preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE) space.
Currently, Mr. Jumare is the Programme Manager for the Advocacy and Communications Department of Neem Foundation and has headed several community based initiatives in North East region of Nigeria. Amongst these is the Counselling on Wheels (CoW) project which he manages. He has also led several research and advocacy activities in the North East. These activities include peace radio programmes at federal and local levels.
Mr. Jumare has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business and has attended numerous courses, including the Basic Management Development course at the Centre for Management Development (CMD) in Nigeria.
