Our Vision

To be a world class service provider supporting institutional development in Africa

Mission

Strengthening organizations, institutions and communities through research, project management and capacity development.

Areas of Focus

The three areas of focus of MDCL as detailed below are research, project management and capacity development. Our rationale is that all three areas have logical links to each other; policy making should be evidence based (through research), and that programmes and projects that are planned and designed based on evidence, if properly managed would most likely achieve their objectives and meet the goals for which they are designed and implemented. However, for sustainability, the capacity development of institutions and personnel that would run the programmes/projects, is important to delivering excellent service.

Research: We believe that policy should be evidence-based. To effectively implement development projects and programmes, and to ensure their sustainability, it is important to conduct research; gathering data and information and processing them for the advancement of knowledge and to underpin the implementation of those projects and programmes. Thus, MDCL carries out studies/surveys and provides technical support to organizations and institutions to research and produce reports.

Project Management: With proper planning, monitoring and evaluation, there will be good project and programme management practice, and subsequently the chance that projects and programmes will be successful and sustainable, can meet their objectives, and therefore ultimate goals. Some of MDCL’s core areas are project planning, design and implementation as well as monitoring, review and evaluation of projects.

Capacity Development: In order for the sustainability of projects and programmes to be assured, and to deliver better services to citizens, the skills and strengths of institutions and their manpower to meet the challenges of increased responsibility need to be enhanced. In this case, MDCL conducts needs assessments (including training needs assessment), training and mentorship programmes, as well as the design, facilitation and delivery of seminars and workshops.
